5 Reasons to Walk

One way I encourage you to be ACTIVE is to set fitness goals and meet them.  I'm a firm believer that spiritual fitness is the foundation on which everything else in our lives are built.  Without the Lord growing us spiritually and him directing our lives, we really do labor in vain.  All undertakings of man will fail, but if God is in it, victory will always be ours. 

Physical fitness is valuable.  We are God's holy temple and we are to honor God in our bodies.  I believe one way to steward our bodies well is to be ACTIVE.  Physical fitness has numerous spiritual benefits and today I want to give you 5 reasons why WALKing is so great for you.  The thing I love about walking is there aren't many excuses for the average person. 

You may not be able to jump high, lift heavy, or run fast, but most people are capable of walking.

 

REASONS TO WALK

  • Increases blood flow to the brain
  • Increases sense of well being
  • Boosts energy
  • Provides source of pleasure and fun
  • Provides heightened alertness

These are all great reasons for you to lace up your sneakers and start walking.  Many times a week I find myself taking a power walk around the block to reframe my mind and talk to Jesus about being my portion and strength to finish this race I'm on.  I love to walk, so much so that I got certified as a Walk 15® Instructor so I could provide a resource to locals to help them get moving.  With so many benefits to walking, and so many opportunities to do so, I hope you will commit to being ACTIVE by walking your way to being more physically fit.
